What is a Data Violation?

Data Security
identifies violations during the scanning of your assets.
Data violations are triggered by active data profiles. A data violation is not the same as an incident. With data violations you don’t need to create any asset rules (policies). Simply enable the data profiles that you want detected and the match results display as soon as they’re discovered.
Data Security
enables you to assess and manage data violations for supported SaaS apps. After you explore the threats behind data violations, you can achieve more granular visibility and control by authoring asset rules to detect incidents.
An asset can trigger both a data violation and an incident.
