Pathfinder is a virtual machine installed on your network
that is responsible for interrogating your endpoints. The Cortex
XDR analytics engine uses the results of this interrogation
as a part of its analysis of the activity on your network.
Pathfinder is updated periodically—mostly when there is a new
Cortex XDR release. However, from time to time a new version
of Pathfinder might be released independently of a Cortex XDR release.
You should always make sure you're using the latest version of
Pathfinder. By default, Pathfinder is configured to automatically
upgrade itself. However, you can configure Pathfinder so that it
only upgrades itself if you manually initiate that process.
