Renewing a Certificate Manually
Follow these steps to manually renew a certificate.
Sign in to Next-Gen Trust Security.
Click Insights > Certificate Inventory > Certificates.
Click Renew. You can also open the certificate's details and click Renew.
In Renew certificate, select one of the following, and then click Continue:
Renew without changes: Requests a new certificate with the same properties, using a new key pair.
Renew without changes, reusing the existing CSR: Requests a new certificate from the original certificate signing request (CSR), so the key pair stays the same.
Renew with changes: Opens the Certificate Request wizard, prefilled from the existing certificate, so you can review or change its details.
The first two options are available only when Next-Gen Trust Security holds the original request and the certificate's private key. Otherwise, renew with changes.
Info (Validity period): Renewing without changes uses the validity period defined by the request policy.
If you chose Renew with changes, complete the Certificate Request wizard:
Select a Request policy.
(Optional) Select or create tags.
Click Continue.
Complete the request details as needed.
Click Finish.
When is Renew available?Renew is available for the current version of a certificate. Certificates issued through an ACME server or managed by Akamai renew through those systems instead. Inside a workspace, Renew is available for certificates the workspace holds and unassigned ones.
Are tags preserved when a certificate is renewed?Yes. Certificate metadata, including tags, is preserved when you renew a certificate.
