M-Series Setup Overview
Deploy an M-Series appliance in Management Only, Panorama, or Log Collector mode to
centrally manage your firewalls and collect logs.

When setting up an M-Series appliance, you can deploy it using one of three operational
modes:
- Management Only Mode: Dedicates the appliance entirely to managing
firewalls and Dedicated Log Collectors, providing no local log collection
capabilities aside from basic system and configuration logs.
- Panorama Mode: Deploys the appliance as a management server that also
collects logs locally, which requires you to configure RAID disk arrays to make
them available for logging.
- Log Collector Mode: Sets up the appliance as a Dedicated Log Collector,
which also requires you to configure the RAID disk arrays for logging before
finalizing the Log Collector setup,
