Set Up Sites
Configure circuits and assign ION devices to monitor or route traffic. Add sites and
designate them as a branch or data center, creating both if necessary.
Where Can I Use
This? | What Do I Need? |
Within your wide area network, your sites can comprise of branch offices and
data centers. You have the flexibility to create sites either before or after the ION
devices arrive at a given site. Once you create a site, the site icon will be displayed
on the map, but the site will be turned off by default. An enterprise can have one or
more branches or data centers within its network.
Depending on the site type, you can configure various elements during the initial site
setup. You can select domains and policies for branch sites, define WAN circuits, and
either assign or pre-provision them using the device shell. These configurations are
optional at the creation time and can be modified later.
You can configure one or more clusters to support scalability across data centers. You
can also define which data centers should communicate with specific branch sites,
enabling secure VPN connections between the data center and branch devices.
To begin with, add sites and designate them as either a branch or a data center. You can
create just a branch, just a data center, or both. However, you will need at least one
branch site and one ION device to start.
