Remote Browser Isolation (RBI) provides secure web browsing by isolating browser sessions from your local network. When users need to print content from their isolated browsing sessions, they now have options for how that content is formatted in the printed output.

Print Headers and Footers in RBI

Headers and footers are the sections that appear at the top and bottom of each printed page. These areas typically contain information such as page numbers, dates, document titles, or URLs—elements that help organize and identify printed materials.

By default, when users print content from an RBI session using standard methods (keyboard shortcuts, default print options), the printed output does not include headers and footers. Users might prefer this clean output for certain use cases, but it lacks the contextual information that headers and footers provide.

RBI provides the option for users to choose whether their printed documents should include these elements. This capability is available across all desktop and mobile devices that support RBI, ensuring a consistent user experience regardless of the device your users are accessing RBI from. To enable this feature, you must enable printing in the isolation profile settings.

How Users Can Print Headers and Footers in RBI

Users can print webpages including headers and footers through a simple workflow within their RBI sessions:

While browsing content in an RBI session, right-click on the page to open the context menu.
From the context menu, select Print (with Header/Footer).
A print dialog appears with settings configured to include headers and footers.
After selecting any additional print preferences, users can complete the printing process.

The standard print options—keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+P), default context menu print option, and in-page print buttons—remain available for cases where headers and footers are not needed.
