PA-VMs deployed on Azure have experienced unrecoverable outcomes related to Azure backend maintenance events. These backend host events are not under the control of the firewall and often lead to issues such as hotplug events, live migrations, and updates to NIC drivers, hypervisors, or networking. The Azure health monitoring daemon provides a solution to tackle these events by performing checks, notifying customers about these occurrences, and offering remediation through graceful failover.
