    Switch Workspaces

    The workspace switcher sits at the top of every page, labelled Workspace. It shows which workspace you are working in, and it is the only way to change that selection. Everything the page shows you comes from the workspace named there.

    Switch to a Different Workspace

    1. Click the Workspace control at the top of the page.
    2. Select a workspace from the list.
      A checkmark marks the workspace you are in now. Tenant is pinned to the top of the list with a globe icon, and Manage Workspaces is pinned to the bottom.
    3. To narrow a long list, start typing in the control.
      Typing filters the workspaces in the list. Tenant and Manage Workspaces stay visible whatever you type.
    Next-Gen Trust Security rebuilds the page under the workspace you selected. You are not signed out, and you do not need to sign in again.

    When the List Is Incomplete

    The switcher lists at most ten workspaces, and typing filters within those ten. If you belong to more than ten, the ones beyond the tenth are neither listed nor found by typing. Click Manage Workspaces to open the Workspaces page, which lists all of them.

    When You Can't Switch

    The switcher changes shape with the access you have.
    • If the only thing you can reach is Tenant, the switcher does not appear at all. There is nothing to switch between.
    • If you can reach exactly one workspace and you have no tenant-level access, the switcher appears but is read-only. It tells you where you are and offers no alternatives.
    • If you can reach several workspaces but have no tenant-level access, you do not see Tenant in the list, and one of your workspaces is selected for you.
    You can change the selection, but you cannot clear it. There is always a workspace selected.

    What Happens When You Switch

    Switching discards everything on screen and rebuilds it for the new workspace. Anything still loading when you switch is abandoned, so finish what you are doing before you switch.
    Your permissions come from your role in the workspace you switch to, and roles are per workspace. You can be an administrator in one workspace and read-only in another. Some pages are available only under Tenant — see Workspace Availability by Page.

    Where the Selection Is Stored

    Next-Gen Trust Security stores your selection in your browser, not in your account. The selection survives signing out and back in on the same browser, and it does not follow you to another browser, another device, or a private browsing window. A colleague signing in on their own machine does not inherit your selection, and you can have two browsers open in two different workspaces at once.
