Force Page Refresh on Policy Update
Immediate Policy Enforcement via Forced Page Refresh
To ensure that updated security policies take effect immediately while an end-user is
actively browsing, administrators can enable a configuration that forces a webpage
refresh upon policy re-evaluation. Without a page refresh or navigation action,
certain data protection controls remain governed by the policy state active during
the initial page load rather than dynamically updating in response to policy pushes
or device condition changes (such as location updates, network switches, or posture
modifications).
The following data controls are impacted:
- Webpage Data Masking: Obfuscation and masking rules applied to sensitive
page elements require a forced refresh to properly apply or remove mask overlays
based on the newly evaluated policy.
- Read-Only Webpage: Transitioning a page into or out of a read-only state
relies on forcing a browser refresh to toggle input restrictions dynamically.
- Screenshot Control (Conditional "When contains"): While standard
screenshot restrictions are continuously evaluated, content-specific screenshot
protections configured with 'When contains' rules depend on page reloading to
re-assess the active content against updated policy criteria.
Enforcing policy updates through automatic page refreshes
can significantly disrupt the user workflow and cause unintended loss of unsubmitted
data across multiple active web applications. Consequently, this enforcement
mechanism should be exercised judiciously and restricted to scenarios where
immediate policy adherence is critical.
To set this control:
From
Strata Cloud Manager, select
Select
