Import a Site Snapshot
Site Snapshot enables you to manage site configurations using a yaml file.

Site Snapshot streamlines network management by allowing you to capture,
update, and deploy site configurations using standard yaml files. By eliminating
manual setup, it ensures high consistency and facilitates rapid site replication
across your network. Whether you are using the web interface or the API, Site
Snapshot uses a single file with hardcoded values to mirror or refresh
configurations effortlessly.
You can deploy a new site or redeploy an existing site's configuration by
using a YAML file. This automates site creation and configuration, ensuring
consistency based on a predefined YAML specification. The system extracts the site's
name from the YAML to manage deployment jobs. To change any parameters in a
snapshot, download the file and modify it locally on your computer before
re-importing it to the controller. This allows you to make precise adjustments to
site parameters because all values are hardcoded.
- Navigate to the ConfigurationPrisma SD-WANBranch Sites or Data Centers.Select Import Site and then choose Use Site Snapshot. This allows you to deploy a new site using a pre-configured yaml file. To import, the yaml file must contain mandatory fields: name (Site Name), city, country, and software_version in the site address.
Browse for your yaml file and Open it.The system requires a valid and accessible yaml file containing your site's configuration. Missing these fields will cause the import to fail.
Select Import and Add Site. This triggers the deployment of the new site based on the uploaded yaml file.Monitor the import job status, which appears in the Import Site Snapshot Status tab on the Site Snapshots page.
You cannot generate Site Snapshots for sites that have a device shell. Your site must have a physical device assigned or be completely blank. This ensures that you capture only fully configured or truly blank site states. If a site with the specified name already exists, the operation retries or redeploys the configuration, or a new deployment job is created.
