Lists the addressed issues in PAN-OS 11.2.16.
The following table lists the addressed issues in PAN-OS 11.2.16.
Issue ID
Description
—
PAN-338608
(PA-5420 firewalls only) Fixed an issue where OSPFv3 routes were not established on a peer device because the firewall incorrectly handled route tags during advertisement. With this fix, route tags are handled correctly.
PAN-337359
(PA-5420 firewalls in active/passive High Availability (HA) configuration only) Fixed an issue where the Forwarding Information Base (FIB) would become stale after HA failover events, routine configuration commits, or Equal-Cost Multi-Path (ECMP) toggles, which led to traffic blackholing. This occurred due to connection refusals between the routing control plane and the forwarding plane. With this fix, routing entries are reliably synchronized to the forwarding plane.
PAN-336014
Fixed an issue where firewalls intermittently lost their connection to the Strata Logging Service, which caused logging to stop until the connection was re-established. With this fix, firewalls maintain a stable connection to the Strata Logging Service.
PAN-335750
(M-700 firewalls in an HA configuration only) Fixed an issue where Panorama was unable to display logs when Elasticsearch was not running. With this fix, logs display as expected.
PAN-334304
Few configs which pushed from SCM to firewall were causing the firewall to loose its internet connectivity and the firewall wasn't able to connect to cloud and was getting stuck at discovery stage retrying indefinitely without returning failure. And now ACR performs the the config rollback once the 5 cloud connectivity check attempts failed.
PAN-333894
Fixed an issue where communication with Microsoft Azure services was disrupted, which resulted in application outages. This occurred when firewalls dropped SYN-ACK packets that were part of a SYN-ACK cookie mechanism activated by Azure's DDoS mitigation. With this fix, firewalls now maintain connectivity during such traffic events.
PAN-333108
Fixed an issue where device telemetry uploads would fail, which led to critical alerts in the system logs. With this fix, telemetry data uploads complete successfully.
PAN-332646
(PA-VM firewalls only) Fixed an issue where the firewall unexpectedly rebooted, which occurred during Geneve protocol traffic processing. With this fix, the firewall operates stably.
PAN-332128
(Prisma Access GlobalProtect gateway nodes) Fixed an issue where commit operations experienced significant delays, which occurred because a configuration parsing process stalled during commit. With this fix, commit operations complete within expected timeframes.
PAN-331617
Fixed an issue where traffic for certain websites was incorrectly matched to a security policy, preventing access for users when using specific web browsers, which occurred because the firewall used a generic session category for policy matching. With this fix, traffic correctly matches the intended security policy.
PAN-331467
Fixed an issue where commit validation on Panorama unexpectedly applied template configuration changes to the firewall, which led to an outage of FQDN resolution. With this fix, commit validation no longer alters firewall behavior.
PAN-330780
(PA-3410 firewalls only) Fixed an issue where the firewall incorrectly directed return Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) traffic to an unintended destination, which prevented new SIP sessions from establishing. With this fix, the firewall correctly forwards return SIP traffic. To enable this fix, disable software cut-through.
PAN-329612
Fixed an issue where multicast routing entries for certain IPTV streams were not correctly installed or populated with necessary interface information, which prevented the proper forwarding of multicast traffic. With this fix, multicast traffic now forwards as expected.
PAN-329511
(PA-4xx Firewalls) Fixed an issue where firewalls rebooted unexpectedly after an upgrade. With this fix, firewalls now operate stably after an upgrade.
PAN-328414
Fixed an issue where firewalls would intermittently disconnect from SLS. With this fix, connections to SLS remain stable.
PAN-328107
Fixed an issue where the management plane CPU utilization appeared high in the show system resources CLI command output due to the calculation incorrectly including the CPU usage of an internal process. With this fix, the reported MP CPU utilization accurately reflects the actual load.
PAN-325946
Fixed an issue where, on firewalls with QoS configured, packet buffer utilization gradually increased after a commit and did not decrease—even after a high availability (HA) failover—which required a reboot to restore normal operation. With this fix, QoS-related packet buffer resources are now properly released.
PAN-316485
Fixed an issue where configuring security policies with IP External Dynamic Lists (EDLs) across multiple Virtual Systems (vsys) would prevent commit operations from completing, which was due to an incorrect virtual system memory calculation. With this fix, commit operations complete as expected.
PAN-286397
Fixed an issue where the DNS proxy would intermittently stop resolving DNS queries, which prevented users from accessing the internet, and which was observed during periods of high CPU utilization for the dnsproxy process. With this fix, the DNS proxy consistently resolves queries, ensuring reliable internet access.
PAN-261628
Fixed an issue where the Data Plane (DP) continued to write packet-diag logs even when packet-diag logging was disabled.
PAN-248390
(PA-5450 firewalls only) Fixed an issue on the web interface where unused log interfaces were incorrectly displayed on the dashboard as configured and down.
PAN-178207
Fixed an issue where the firewall's certificate verification logic did not support the RSASSA-PSS signature algorithm, which prevented proper validation of certificates using this algorithm. With this fix, the firewall can verify certificates signed with RSASSA-PSS. RSASSA-PSS support is disabled by default. Use the following operational mode command to enable it on each firewall: set system setting ssl-decrypt support-rsa-pss > no disable (default) > yes enable
