Increase the System Disk on the Panorama Virtual Appliance

Expand the system disk on the Panorama virtual appliance
Expand the system disk capacity to 224GB for the Panorama virtual appliance to support large datasets to allow for sufficient disk space for things such as dynamic updates when you Manage Large-Scale Firewall Deployments with Panorama. Additionally, a 224GB system disk expands storage for monitoring and reporting data for managed firewall health if you intended to use the Panorama virtual appliance in Panorama mode to manage your SD-WAN deployment
The request system clone-system-disk command used to migrate the system disk to 224 GB is not available on Panorama virtual appliances in dedicated Log Collector (LC) mode on PAN-OS 11.1.12 and earlier PAN-OS 11.1 releases, and PAN-OS 11.2.8 and earlier PAN-OS 11.2 releases.
If your appliance is running an affected version, use one of the following options:
  • Recommended: Upgrade the appliance to a fixed PAN-OS version (11.1.13 or later, 11.2.9 or later, or 12.1.2 or later) and then expand the system disk while the appliance remains in Log Collector mode.
  • Workaround: Temporarily switch the appliance to Panorama mode, expand the system disk, and then switch back to Log Collector mode.
Switching to Panorama mode causes loss of all stored logs.
