You can set up the Panorama virtual appliance across a variety of platforms. Before beginning,
review the necessary setup prerequisites to ensure your infrastructure is ready. Next,
install the virtual appliance on a wide range of supported hypervisors and public cloud
environments, including VMware (ESXi and vCloud Air), Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google
Cloud Platform (GCP), KVM, Hyper-V, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
After the installation is complete, you can perform the initial configuration and select
the specific operating mode that fits your network deployment. You can set up the
virtual appliance in standard Panorama mode, Management Only mode, or as a dedicated Log
Collector. For more details about the Panorama virtual appliance and its modes, see
Panorama
Models.
You also have the flexibility to configure the appliance with a local log collector, if
needed. As your network management and logging demands grow, you can scale the resources
of your virtual appliance.
You can complete the virtual appliance setup and follow instructions to convert your
appliance's licensing or deployment type if your requirements change. This includes
transitioning an evaluation Panorama to a production deployment, converting to VM-Flex
licensing, or moving a production Panorama to an Enterprise License Agreement (ELA).
These topics assume you are familiar with the public and
private hypervisor products required to create the virtual appliance,
and don’t cover any related concepts or terminology.
