Auto-Enabled Telemetry

Automatically enables telemetry on your firewalls to provide valuable insights, improve support resolution times, and enhance security without complex configuration steps.
When you deploy a new firewall or update to a compatible version, telemetry collection through Tenant Service Groups (TSGs) is now automatically enabled. This ensures you immediately benefit from valuable security insights without manual configuration. The collected data serves multiple critical purposes: proactively identifying potential issues before they impact your operations, providing deeper visibility into your security posture, offering insights into system performance metrics, and maintaining strict privacy controls to protect sensitive information.
By default, telemetry is enabled in Full Tier, delivering comprehensive insights into device health statistics, performance metrics, threat prevention effectiveness, and product usage patterns. The system automatically determines the appropriate data storage region based on your current Strata Logging Service, Strata Cloud Manager, or IoT Security settings. This intelligent routing ensures compliance with data sovereignty requirements without requiring additional configuration steps on your part.
While Full Tier provides the most comprehensive benefits, you can switch to a Diagnostics Tier that excludes sensitive configuration data. With automatic enablement, your firewalls begin sending telemetry data to a region-appropriate data lake immediately. This streamlined approach eliminates manual configuration requirements, respects data residency mandates, and enables Palo Alto Networks support to resolve cases more efficiently when needed.
