Manage the existing and newly discovered application domains for monitoring. When
application domain-level monitoring is disabled, data collection stops for all users
across all supported browsers for that specific application domain.
It may take up to six hours for the newly discovered
domains to sync and appear in the Application Domains table.
You can update the monitoring status or delete a maximum of
100 domains at a time.
Understanding the Application Domains Table
To get started, click InsightsApplication Experience Your OrganizationManage Monitoring SettingsBrowser-based Real user monitoring and expand the Application Domains section to view the
monitoring status of all domains.
Sorting of Application Domains
The table is sorted automatically to
help you quickly identify active governance rules and exceptions:
Wildcard Patterns: Manually added wildcard rules
(for example, *.acme.com) are pinned to the very top of the
table.
Overrides: Domains that have had their status
manually overridden against a wildcard rule are grouped immediately
below the wildcards.
Discovered Domains: All standard discovered domains
populate below these customized entries.
To ensure high visibility, both wildcard
patterns and overridden domains are highlighted in purple text.
Understanding Governance Rules
Hover over the Monitoring Status column to see specific
governance states:
Governed: A domain that matches a wildcard rule and
follows its status will display a Governed by [pattern]
tooltip.
Overridden: A domain that matches a wildcard but has been
explicitly set to a different status by an admin.
If multiple wildcards match a domain, the most specific
(longest) pattern wins (for example, *.dev.acme.com takes
priority over *.acme.com).
Managing Domain Status
You can perform the following administrative
actions within the Application Domains table:
Search for a Domain: Use the search bar at the top right to
find a specific URL or wildcard (for example, typing test will show
all domains like *.test.com or et.test.com).
Add a Domain: Click Add Domain and
enter a specific FQDN or type a pattern using an asterisk to create
a wildcard rule.
Change Monitoring Status:
Single Domain: Select Included or
Excluded from the Monitoring
Status drop down to enable or disable monitoring for
a specific domain.
Multiple Domains: To change the status of multiple domains
at once, select the check boxes next to the domain names and
use the Include for monitoring or
Exclude for monitoring buttons at
the top of the table.
Delete Domains: Select the check boxes next to the
application domain names and click Delete.
Discovered domains cannot be manually deleted; they are
automatically purged after 30 days of no traffic. Domains
with active traffic observed in the last 30 days cannot be
deleted.
Wildcard entries cannot be bulk-deleted. Each wildcard entry
must be deleted individually.
