Integrate IGEL Universal Management System (IGEL UMS) with Device Security to centralize asset management for your endpoints. Through this integration, Device Security learns about distributed devices from your IGEL database, including detailed device attributes. When Device Security ingests device data from IGEL, you can use the Device Security platform for unified monitoring and analysis of your devices.
When you need to track hardware assets from deployment through retirement, the integration provides key device identifying data including serial numbers, in-service dates, and usage metrics that enable effective asset lifecycle management. Combined with the information and alert capabilities in Device Security, you can monitor security compliance by tracking firmware versions, configuration changes, and offline devices that may require attention. The integration also supports resource optimization by analyzing endpoint use patterns, helping you identify underutilized hardware and rationalize deployment costs based on actual usage versus hardware specifications.
After integrating with IGEL, Device Security retrieves comprehensive endpoint information including device specifications, network configurations, firmware data, and profile assignments. In the Device Security asset inventory, you can query and filter devices based on IGEL attributes such as network names, sites, and BIOS information. This data appears in the asset inventory and device details pages, enabling you to perform network intelligence mapping, implement IT service management integration with business units, and conduct infrastructure reporting for executive dashboards.
Integrating with IGEL UMS requires either a full-featured Cortex XSOAR™ server or the activation of a Device Security free cohosted Cortex XSOAR instance.
