Configuring BGP on your firewall enables it to participate in inter-domain routing,
whether connecting to internet service providers, establishing connections between
branch offices and data centers, or implementing complex multi-homed network
architectures that require sophisticated routing control and redundancy.
Perform the following task to configure BGP.
If you use NAT with BGP, configure BGP to advertise a
contiguous address block rather than individual host routes to prevent routing
loops. Add a discard (null) route for the summarized prefix on the firewall so
that traffic destined for unallocated addresses within the block is dropped
locally instead of being forwarded and potentially looped.
