Monitor App Health in Data Security

The Data Security App Health feature enhances the existing capabilities to include comprehensive monitoring of the status of your SaaS apps. This feature is available for the Office 365, Google Drive, Slack Enterprise, Microsoft teams, and Microsoft Exchange apps. The following are the key app health monitoring enhancements:
  • The status of core services like DLP, WildFire, Policy Engine, and URL Analysis are provided separately at the top of the applications page. If these core services are down, you can configure admin alerts directly in the web interface or configure them in the Settings page.
  • The Real-time Health Dashboard enables you to monitor app status with clear visual indicators showing operational status as Healthy (green), Warning (amber), and Critical (red).
  • Description of the status indicators.
  • Number of assets ingested.
  • Number of assets scanned.
  • Processing Time Metrics: Track P95 end-to-end processing time across predefined time buckets.
  • Rate limits hit.
  • Number of incidents generated.
  • Number of incidents remediated.
  • Users Info.
The health status showing the above three statuses are applicable only for the five apps mentioned above. For other apps, it shows only whether it is Scanning, Scanning Off or Not Connected. Also, the status descriptions are applicable only for the five apps mentioned above. For other apps, there are no status descriptions.

Admin and End User Notification with Slack Enterprise

Data Security enables administrators like you to notify end users when assets are deleted or quarantined, providing a low-touch mechanism for training users on organizational policy rule compliance.
The enhanced Slack notification system enabled you to configure both automated admin and end user notifications that work with your existing data security policy rules. When policy rules are triggered, administrators can receive automatic Slack alerts in designated private channels, while end users whose assets are affected receive direct notifications through the Slack bot. Both notification types support fully customizable messaging, enabling organizations to tailor communications to their specific compliance requirements.
For Slack Enterprise customers, we have also introduced manual end user notifications that provide on-demand communication capabilities for specific deleted or quarantined assets. These manual notifications offer the flexibility to override the default workflow settings when needed, with the ability to configure different messages for deletion and quarantine actions. This gives you granular control over user communications while maintaining the efficiency of automated processes.
  • The Proactive Training option has been deprecated.
  • Notification via Slack is supported for all apps. However, ensure that you have onboarded the Slack Enterprise or Slack Pro and Business app so that Data Security can send notifications through Slack.
