Register Your Subscription in the CSP

Register your Advanced DNS Security subscription with Palo Alto Networks to provide subscriber information and enable access to Palo Alto Networks technical support.
Where Can I Use This? What Do I Need?
  • Amazon Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall
  • Advanced DNS Security subscription (active)
  • AWS account ID associated with the subscription
After subscribing to Advanced DNS Security through AWS Marketplace, register your subscription with Palo Alto Networks to provide your subscriber information and gain access to the Palo Alto Networks Customer Support Portal (CSP). Registration links your AWS Marketplace subscription to a CSP account, allowing you to open support cases directly with Palo Alto Networks for DNS threat detection issues.
The CSP is the Palo Alto Networks support platform where you manage support cases, track case status, and access knowledge base articles related to Advanced DNS Security. You access the CSP at support.paloaltonetworks.com.
If you are an existing Palo Alto Networks customer with a CSP account, you can register your Advanced DNS Security for Route 53 subscription from within the CSP. See Manage Your Subscription in the CSP.
You manage your Advanced DNS Security subscription infrastructure (rules, rule groups, VPC associations) through the AWS console, and you manage DNS threat detection concerns (false positives, category accuracy, detection coverage) through Palo Alto Networks support. The following guidance helps you determine which support channel to use:
Palo Alto Networks SupportAWS Support
  • A legitimate domain is incorrectly blocked by a DNS security category (false positive)
  • A known malicious domain is not detected by the expected category (false negative)
  • Questions about DNS security category definitions or detection coverage
  • Requesting review of a specific domain classification
  • Threat detection behavior not matching expected category descriptions
  • DNS Firewall console errors or UI issues
  • Rule group creation or configuration failures
  • VPC association issues
  • Rule state stuck in CREATING or CREATION_FAILED
  • AWS Marketplace subscription or billing issues
  • CloudWatch metrics not appearing
  • DNS resolution latency or performance issues
  • Cross-account sharing (RAM, Firewall Manager) issues
  1. Navigate to the Palo Alto Networks CSP registration page.
You can reach the registration page in one of two ways:
    • From AWS Marketplace—On your subscription page, select Set up your account to be redirected to the CSP registration page with your subscription information pre-populated.
    • From the CSP directly—Navigate to support.paloaltonetworks.com and select Create Account. You will need to provide your AWS Account ID and Agreement ID manually during the Device Registration step.
  2. Enter your email address and verify it.
You receive a verification email at the address you provide. Follow the instructions in the email to verify your account before continuing.
  3. Complete the Device Registration step.
Select Register usage-based VM-Series models (hourly/annual) purchased from public cloud Marketplace or Cloud Security Service Provider (CSSP). The Cloud Marketplace field is pre-populated with AWS Route 53 Firewall Advanced DNS Security (ADNS), and the Agreement ID and AWS Account ID fields are pre-populated from your AWS Marketplace subscription.
The Device Registration page references VM-Series models and Cloud Security Service Providers (CSSP). This is a generic registration form that also applies to Advanced DNS Security for Route 53 subscriptions.
  4. Complete the Support Account step.
The CSP automatically determines whether to create a new Support Account or associate you with an existing account based on your email address. If your email is already registered to a CSP account, CSP adds you to that existing account. Otherwise, CSP creates a new Support Account and prompts you to provide your company name and address.
  5. Enter your contact information.
Provide your first name, last name, email, phone number, and default address. Click Validate Address when complete.
CSP verifies your address against known good addresses. If a recommended address is a better match, select it. Otherwise, click OK to continue with the original address.
  6. Review your registration details and click Register.
The review page displays your email information, device registration information (including Serial Number, Tenant ID, and Cloud Marketplace), and support account information. Edit any details if necessary before submitting.
After registration, you receive an activation email at your registered email address. If CSP added you to an existing Support Account, a Super User of that account must approve your membership before you can access the account. When approved, you receive an email with instructions to log in to the CSP and set up your password and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).
After activating your account, you can create support cases with Palo Alto Networks for DNS threat detection issues through the CSP at support.paloaltonetworks.com. For general questions about Advanced DNS Security functionality, you can also contact adns-support@paloaltonetworks.com.
