Enterprise DLP Data Filtering Profile Configuration Sync
When managing your Enterprise Data Loss Prevention (E-DLP) data filtering profiles across your Panorama® management server and Strata Cloud Manager, configuration drift might occur because the Enterprise DLP plugin's local configuration only syncs with Strata Cloud Manager when you commit Enterprise DLP configuration changes on Panorama. This can lead to configurations commit failures or for data filtering profiles to be being silently overwritten that can cause security disruptions and protection gaps.
Enterprise DLP Data Filtering Profile Configuration Sync helps you maintain a consistent data filtering profile configuration across Panorama and Strata Cloud Manager. When the Enterprise DLP detects a data filtering profile configuration conflict, the admin committing the configuration change on Panorama receives a clear notification with options to compare differences between local and cloud versions to give you the opportunity to choose which version to apply. This ensures your Enterprise DLP configuration remains consistent and predictable. Additionally, this feature helps prevent accidental deletion of data filtering profiles currently in use in Security policy rules on other platforms. This helps protect against unintended security gaps. Furthermore, it helps manage Enterprise DLP plugin version compatibility by ensuring data filtering profiles with newer features are not modified on platforms that don't yet support those capabilities.
Enterprise DLP Data Filtering Profile Configuration Sync helps ease the operational burden of managing Enterprise DLP data profiles across Panorama and Strata Cloud Manager. It helps keep the two synchronized when administrators make frequent data filtering profile changes, and helps ensure consistent data protection policy rules. By implementing this synchronization capability, you reduce configuration errors while maintaining proper security controls across all your enforcement points.
