View Application Details
View detailed application metadata organized by attribute group when you select an
application in Applipedia.
When you click an application name in Applipedia, a detail panel opens with the full set
of metadata for that application. The information displayed depends on your access role
and subscriptions — authenticated users see all attribute values, while public users see
a subset with the remaining attribute names visible as teasers. Attribute groups are
displayed in collapsible sections that you can expand or collapse individually.
General
Core identification, classification, and release metadata for the application. This
section includes:
- Application Name, App-ID Name, Product Suite, and Vendor
- Category, Subcategory, Standard Ports, and Secure Ports
- DLP Support, Technology (such as browser-based or client-server), and SaaS
classification
- Reference link and Description
- Product URL
- Predefined [Enterprise] Tags (such as App-ID Cloud Engine, Web App)
- Implicitly Use Applications, Old Names, and Container (parent
application)
- Functional Type, Depends on Applications, Requires Decryption, and Min PAN-OS
Version
- First Release Date, First Release Version, Last Modified Date, and Last Modified
Version
A badge at the top of the section indicates whether the application is a
Cloud App-ID or Content
App-ID.
Security and Privacy
Security and privacy information that helps you assess if an application meets your
organization's security policies. This section combines the application's behavioral
risk characteristics with its security posture attributes:
- Risk characteristics—Risk Score, Evasive, Excessive Bandwidth, Prone to
Misuse, Capable of Transferring Files, Tunnels Other Applications, Used by
Malware, Has Known Vulnerabilities, and Widely Used
- Threat indicators—Data Breaches, Poor Financial Viability, Spoof Risk
Level, and Poor Terms Of Service
- Encryption—Audit Log, Encryption at Rest, Encryption in Transit,
Encryption Strength At Rest, and Protected From Downgrade Attacks
- Privacy and data handling—Privacy Policy, Third Party Data Sharing, HTTP
Security Headers, Terms and Conditions, Disaster Recovery, File/Content Sharing,
Data Retention, Data Ownership, Native Data Classification, and Session
Timeout
Identity and Access Management
Authentication and access-control capabilities of the application, including IP Based
Restrictions, RBAC, MFA, SAML, and Password Policy.
Compliance
Regulatory and industry compliance certifications that help you assess if the
application meets the requirements of standards, regulations, and policies. Tracked
certifications include C5, CJIS, COBIT, COPPA, CSA STAR, FedRAMP, FERPA, FFIEC,
FISMA, FINRA, GAPP, GDPR, GLBA, HIPAA, HITRUST CSF, ISAE 3402, ISO 27001, ISO

Attributes specific to generative AI applications. This section is populated only for
applications classified as GenAI and includes Input Data Types, Output Data Types,
Use Cases, GenAI Types, Consumption Modes, Data Used In Models, Allows Fine Tuning,
Has A Marketplace, Input Monitoring And Review, Indemnity, Security Guardrails, and
Uses GenAI To Generate Code.
Additional
Supplementary metadata about the application's organization and detection, including
App Domains, Popularity, Employee Count, Founded date, HQ Locations, Company Type,
detection method (How is this app detected?), NPS Score, Is Open Source, Privacy
Policy, and SaaS Category. Some fields in this section are only visible to
authenticated users with a SaaS Inline subscription — without the subscription,
those fields appear blurred.
