Knowing the physical location of devices across your networks helps you manage, secure, and redeploy resources effectively. The Cisco Spaces integration with Device Security solves this problem by adding location context to devices in your Device Security asset inventory. This integration leverages Cisco Spaces, a platform that aggregates location data from access points to deliver precise device positioning down to campuses, buildings, floors, and even individual pillars or meeting rooms. Cisco Spaces can also provide information on devices such as RFID tags, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices, and devices with radio frequencies.

After integrating Device Security with Cisco Spaces, you can import location hierarchies, floor maps, and device coordinates from Cisco Spaces, displaying this information directly within Device Security. The integration enriches your asset inventory with attributes such as device identifiers, radio signals, and physical locations. You can then filter, query, and group assets based on attributes learned from Cisco Spaces. You can view device locations on floor maps imported into Device Security, see which access point each device connects to, and track location changes over time.

The integration requires Cisco Spaces API access, supporting both on-premises and cloud deployments. After configuring the integration instance through Cortex XSOAR, import the floor plans from Cisco Spaces first. Afterwards, you can configure what device types you want to import, and then view them in the floor plans on Device Security.

Integrating with Cisco Spaces requires either a full-featured Cortex XSOAR™ server or the activation of a Device Security free cohosted Cortex XSOAR instance.
