You can check for new PAN-OS releases directly in the firewall, or on the Palo Alto Networks support portal. To upgrade the firewall to the latest version of PAN-OS:
  1. Review the latest PAN-OS Release Notes to see what’s new. Also take a look at Upgrade/Downgrade Considerations to make sure you understand all potential changes the PAN-OS release might introduce.
  2. Check for new PAN-OS releases:
    • On the support portal—Go to support.paloaltonetworks.com and, on the left menu bar, select UpdatesSoftware Updates. Download and save the release you want to use to upgrade the firewall.
    • On the firewall—Select DeviceSoftware and Check Now for the firewall to check with the Palo Alto Networks Update Server for new PAN-OS release versions.
