Prerequisites of AWS Virtual Form Factor
Learn the prerequisites for the AWS virtual form factor before integrating with Prisma SD-WAN.
To facilitate the deployment of Prisma SD-WAN into AWS,
Prisma SD-WAN provides two deployment options through the AWS Marketplace:
The following requirements must be met to successfully deploy
and configure Prisma SD-WAN in an AWS environment:
An AWS account with permissions to create, update, and
delete Cloud Formation templates (CFT) and associated VPC resources.
The ability to provision at least one elastic IP in the AWS
region where Prisma SD-WAN will be deployed.
An active subscription or proof of concept engagement with
Prisma SD-WAN.
VPC deployment - A router instance already deployed or to
be deployed in the VPC to be the Core router for Prisma SD-WAN
to peer with (this is not part of the AWS Marketplace Cloud Formation
template).
Transit gateway deployment – Layer 3 policies/routing configured
for VPCs behind transit gateway to reach Prisma SD-WAN network(s).
Router instance/setup is not part of the AWS Marketplace Cloud Formation template.
Prisma SD-WAN provides the virtual image in a VHD format per
model type to facilitate the deployment of Prisma SD-WAN ION devices
to an AWS environment.
ION Device
Model Requirements and Throughput Target
Model Name | vCPU | Memory (GB) | Disk (GB) | Throughput (Mbps) |
ION 3102v | 2 | 8 | 40 | 100 |
ION 3104v | 4 | 8 | 40 | 200 |
ION 3108v | 8 | 8 | 40 | 350 |
ION 7108v | 8 | 32 | 100 | 3000 |
If you are running a vION on M4 AMI in AWS, use the
documented upgrade path to move to higher
device software versions of the vION. It is not mandatory to migrate to M5 AMI in
AWS.
