    Start Sending Logs to a New
    Cortex Data Lake
     Instance

    If you want to start sending firewall logs to a new instance of
    Cortex Data Lake
    , you can use the
    Cortex Data Lake
     app to conveniently move firewalls and Panorama appliances from one instance of
    Cortex Data Lake
     to another.
    When moving a firewall or Panorama appliance, keep these requirements in mind:
    • The destination
      Cortex Data Lake
       instance must be in the same customer support account as the original instance.
    • This process only works for firewalls and Panorama appliances running PAN-OS 10.1 or later with a device certificate installed. For PAN-OS 10.0 or earlier, onboard your firewall to a new instance.

    Move Firewalls

    1. Navigate to the
      Cortex Data Lake
       app.
      1. Log in to the hub.
      2. Select the
        Cortex Data Lake
         instance to which you would like to move the devices.
    2. Move firewalls.
      1. Select
        Inventory
        Add
        .
      2. Select
        Move
         and
        Next
        .
      3. Select the firewalls that you want to move and
        Submit
        .
        You can also configure data storage settings for the target
        Cortex Data Lake
         instance: long-term storage for archival and auditing purposes or data ingestion for real-time processing by other applications.

    Move Panorama Appliances

    To move a Panorama appliance to another
    Cortex Data Lake
     instance, ensure that the appliance:
    1. Navigate to the
      Cortex Data Lake
       app.
      1. Log in to the hub.
      2. Select the
        Cortex Data Lake
         instance to which you would like to move the devices.
    2. Move Panorama appliances.
      1. Select
        Inventory
        Add
        .
      2. Select
        Move
         and
        Next
        .
      3. Select the Panorama appliances that you want to move and
        Submit
        .
        You still need to add the firewalls managed by your Panorama appliances to start sending logs to the new instance.
    3. Perform a commit on the Panorama appliance to begin sending logs to
      Cortex Data Lake
      .
