Overview: Event Logging

The Event Log shows events recorded as a result of user actions and Next-Gen Trust Security operational activity. Use the event log to troubleshoot issues or to review activity as part of your organization’s security practices.
Event logging helps you understand who performed which actions in your Next-Gen Trust Security account by classifying events by resource type and action, such as create, read, update, and delete (CRUD). Events are categorized to help distinguish routine activity from items that may require attention.
To help you focus on relevant information, you can create and save filters. You can also set a default filter to apply automatically when you open the event log.

What Gets Logged?

Next-Gen Trust Security logs both user-initiated events and system-generated operational events.

How Do Filters Work?

Filters let you narrow the event log to show only the information you need. You can combine multiple filter criteria to reduce results to a specific set of events.
For instructions on creating and applying filters, see Create and apply event log filters.

Example: Filter to Show Failed Login Attempts

To identify users who are experiencing login issues, you can create a filter that shows failed Next-Gen Trust Security login attempts. The filtered results show which users experienced login failures and when those failures occurred.
