Create a VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (AVI) machine

Creating a machine enables Next-Gen Trust Security to connect directly to a VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (AVI) so certificates can be provisioned to its keystores. After creating the machine, you can provision certificates to it.

Before you begin

  • Hostname or IP address of the VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (AVI).
  • Port number, if the load balancer uses a port other than 443.
  • Credentials with administrative permissions on the VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (AVI).
  1. In VMware NSX ALB (AVI) Address/Hostname, enter the hostname or IP address of the load balancer.
  2. If the load balancer uses a port other than 443, enter the port number in Port.
  3. From Credential Type, select one of the following:
    • Enter Credentials to provide credentials manually.
    • Select Credentials to use shared credentials from a configured credential provider.
Note: The available credential options depend on your environment configuration.
  4. Enter the required VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (AVI) credentials.
Warning: Remember to store your username and password securely when creating a new machine. For security reasons, you will not be able to modify the fields under the "Access" tab without these credentials. This ensures that only authorized individuals can modify these fields.
  5. Click Test Access to verify connectivity.
  6. Click Continue. The Continue button is enabled only after the connection test succeeds.
