  • AIOps for NGFW Premium
  • Role: Superuser or
    Business Administrator
Strata Cloud Manager provides unified management and operations only for NGFWs using the AIOps for NGFW Premium license. The application tile name on the hub for
AIOps for NGFW
(the premium app only) is now changed to
Strata Cloud Manager
. With this update, the application URL has also changed to stratacloudmanager.paloaltonetworks.com, and you’ll also now see the
Strata Cloud Manager
logo on the left navigation pane. Continue to use the
AIOps for NGFW Free
app for the NGFWs onboarded to
AIOps for NGFW Free
. For more information, see Activate AIOps for NGFW Free.
The
AIOps for NGFW Premium
(use the Strata Cloud Manager app) license is supported only in a single tenant environment with paid
Cortex Data Lake
. For information about support for firewalls and AIOps for NGFW license type combinations, see Firewall and License Type Compatibility.
After you receive an email from Palo Alto Networks identifying the
AIOps for NGFW Premium
license you're activating, click the email link to begin the activation process.
  1. Select
    Get Started with
    AIOps for NGFW Premium
    in your email.
  2. You are automatically directed to
    Common Services
    Subscription & Add-ons
    , where you activate the subscription for your product.
  3. Select the same
    Tenant
    that you used for
    Cortex Data Lake
    , so that you can associate AIOps on the same tenant where you want AIOps to be applied.
  4. The
    Customer Support Account
    is grayed out, but is auto-populated with the same CSP that you used for
    Cortex Data Lake
    .
  5. The
    Region
    is grayed out, but is auto-populated with the same region that you used for
    Cortex Data Lake
    .
  6. The web interface shows that you have
    Cortex Data Lake
    available in this tenant where you can apply AIOps.
  7. Agree
    to the terms and conditions, and
    Activate
    .
  8. Common Services
    Tenant Management
    displays the status of the activation, such as
    initializing
    or
    complete
    .
  9. After the status is
    Complete
    , you must go to the
    Common Services
    Device Associations
    tab to select the devices and add the firewall or Panorama appliance to your tenant. See Associate Devices with a Tenant.
    If the status isn't
    Complete
    , you can't add your devices yet.
  10. Launch
    Strata Cloud Manager
    with AIOps for NGFW Premium license from one of the following options.
    • Click the
      Strata Cloud Manager
      tile in the hub.
    • Launch from
      Common Services
      Tenant Management
      or from
      Settings
      Tenant Management
      .
  11. Get started with AIOps for NGFW. If you're a new AIOps for NGFW customer or migrated to
    Strata Cloud Manager
    of June 2023, also get started with AIOps for NGFW on the
    Strata Cloud Manager
    .
  12. Manage identity and access. To add new users, assign them the role of Superuser .
    The CSP-level access isn't sufficient.
If you're activating an
AIOps for NGFW Premium
instance for the first time, and you don’t have a free tier instance,
AIOps for NGFW Free
tier instance is also activated automatically. This helps you in scenarios such as:
  • If you activate licenses for a partial set of devices in your tenant, the unlicensed devices are visible in the
    AIOps for NGFW Free
    instance only if the devices are added to the same tenant.
  • If the
    AIOps for NGFW Premium
    licenses expire, the devices revert to the
    AIOps for NGFW Free
    instance.
