Learn about Service Provider (SP) Backbones through the
Prisma SASE Multitenant Portal
The
Prisma™ SASE Multitenant Portal
enables you to use Service Provider (SP) Backbones for Prisma Access egress traffic, such as: BT, Orange, AT&T, and more. Without the SP Backbone feature, Prisma Access egress traffic uses public cloud providers for network backbone instead, such as: GCP, AWS, and Azure.
You can use SP Backbone for a variety of reasons, such as the following:
  • Offer security for Internet, SaaS apps, and private app access with high bandwidth SP connectivity to enterprises.
  • Optimize Prisma Access network costs & reliability.
  • Utilize high bandwidth “Unmetered interconnect” to the SP's connectivity backbone using GCP Partner Interconnect.
  • Utilize SP backbone and ISP peering at scale for SaaS Apps, CDNs, public cloud services, and wider Internet services.
  • Utilize SP provided backbone metrics for end-to-end visibility.
  • Send all Prisma Access egress traffic to SP edge or backbone (except GCP services & productivity apps).
  • Enable and disable per SP and per Prisma Access location or region.
